Goodwill…is your friend :)

This past weekend I went shopping at Goodwill

There aren’t a whole lot of thrift shops in my city besides Goodwill and Salvation Army, plus they are the better ones than the rest

I personally prefer Goodwill, most everything has a set price (except for some new items) and most everything is nicely arranged in terms of color and the actual type of item

Most women’s shirts are organized by color:

At Goodwill they recently started changing the way they arrange the jeans.  Now it’s easier to find the best brands of jeans:

Often I am able to find good brands of jeans.  From my most recent visit I found some of the following brands:

(J Brand, Kitson, A & F)

Another awesome thing about Goodwill is that it receives a good amount of new items from Target.  I often find things from Target there that are new with tags.  Those items usually are marked up a couple of dollars, but $5 for a new tee from Target isnt bad

I love looking at the dresses at Goodwill, from my most recent visit I purchased two dresses as well as a shirt-dress

The grey dress is new from Target.  I love the flowery dress, definitely a cool new addition to my closet.

Each dress at Goodwill is only $4!

Plus shirts are just under $3, jeans are $5, and blazers are $6

I love the unique clothes that I find at thrift shops

Some tips:

1. Make a time limit for yourself

Give yourself 30 mins or an hour so that you speed up the process of looking through thrift.  There are tons of clothes at thrift shops, so a time limit can help in speedily looking for the gems in the rest of the clothes.

2. Keep in mind what you are looking for

Its easy to get off-task in a thrift shop, so before you go in keep in mind what you are there for.  If you are in desperate need of some new tops then make sure to go there first, so as not to wast time getting other items you may never have use for.

3. Prior to shopping, look for inspiration

I constantly check out lookbook.nu for new looks featuring different types of clothes.  I take a screenshot on my phone of my favorite outfits and when I’m at the thrift shop I look for similar items.
